Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our childcare staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities and programs of our centre, ensuring the well-being and happiness of our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathing, Diapering, and Feeding Infants and Toddlers
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Support early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Engaging Children in Activities
    • Telling stories and singing songs to promote language and literacy skills
    • Preparing crafts and activities to encourage creativity and fine motor skills
  • Preparing Meals and Maintaining a Safe Environment
    • Preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
    • Maintaining a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Communicating with Colleagues and Parents
    • Submitting written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
    • Participating in staff meetings to discuss progress and challenges
  • Meeting Certification and Training Requirements
    • Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification
    Requirements
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • Experience in childcare or a related field (an asset)
    • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling
    • Punctuality, dependability, flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude
