Job Opportunity: French Language Instructor

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified French Language Instructor to join our team at Cégep de Trois-Rivières. As a French Language Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching French as a second language to adult immigrants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a pedagogical plan;
  • Organize learning activities for your class;
  • Use educational materials provided by MIFI;
  • Evaluate students' skills using the Quebec scale of language proficiency;
  • Identify students with learning difficulties and find suitable solutions;
  • Be willing to receive training to better meet students' needs;
  • Attend team meetings;
  • Perform administrative tasks related to teaching, following directives and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in French as a Second Language or a related field;
  • Proficiency in French, both written and spoken;
  • Comfort with computers and related tools (Teams, Moodle, etc.);
  • Experience in teaching and classroom management;
  • Experience working with immigrant clients (an asset).

Working Conditions:

The position is for a period of 11 weeks, with the possibility of contract renewal at the start of each new session. There are three available positions:

  • Part-time evening position for 12 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm);
  • Part-time daytime position for 12 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm);
  • Full-time position for 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm) *the schedule may vary depending on the sessions.
