About the Role

The Canadian Institute for Health Information is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Specialized Care Data Management team. As a key player in this interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining and releasing a series of reporting and analytical products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the Specialized Care reporting tools and databases, as well as a working knowledge of other key data sources that shed light on specialized care products and services.
  • Support the development of and/or maintain up-to-date and comprehensive technical documentation on data quality and reporting products.
  • Participate in data load activities and contribute to the development and delivery of data releases, products, and services.
  • Conduct analyses for data requests and capacity building activities.
  • Participate in the development, documentation, and testing of new data collection and reporting modules.
  • Assist in the ongoing development and testing of analytical and client support products, including interpreting and documenting results.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, such as Epidemiology, Health Information, Statistics, Social Sciences, or Health/Business Administration.
  • 1-3 years' experience in data collection, data quality, analysis, report development, and/or dissemination of research.
  • Experience with manipulation and statistical software, such as Python, R, SAS, or other statistical software is essential.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with minimal supervision.
  • Fluency in English is required; bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
