Job Description

Foresters Financial is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate the feasibility of new technologies and ensure alignment with our strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture group to develop technology roadmaps and implement Continuous Service Improvements (CSI) to enhance performance, stability, and functionality.
  • Explore new AWS technologies and provide recommendations to improve our cloud environment.
  • Plan, build, and manage all aspects of our AWS infrastructure, including security, networking, and storage.
  • Assist in implementing policies and procedures for IT operations, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Conduct cybersecurity-related testing and remediation, including source code security review, penetration testing, and system monitoring.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve cybersecurity vulnerabilities within our AWS environment.
  • Leverage AWS security tools to measure and enhance our environment.
  • Work with AWS management tools to remediate and manage our environment.
  • Manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for multiple environments, including Azure, AWS, and SaaS.
  • Ensure regular communication and status reporting with stakeholders, including project sponsors, sites, and users.
  • Provide third-level support for production incidents and perform emergency remediation as needed.
  • Conduct post-incident root cause analysis.
  • Ensure all AWS Connect systems are monitored for problems and take corrective actions urgently when required.
  • Establish vendor services and resolve problems related to AWS technology.
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation outlining all procedures and relevant configurations for recovery, administration, and troubleshooting purposes are available.
  • Ensure all changes to the environment are deployed using Foresters' CI/CD DevOps pipeline.
  • Ensure all changes to the AWS environment are being documented and maintained.
Key Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary bachelor's degree in computer science, programming, network engineering, or a relevant engineering field, coupled with related professional certifications/designations.
  • Full knowledge of DevOps disciplines and alignment for Foresters' CI/CD processes, infrastructure as code development.
  • Security conscious with 5+ years of experience providing system administration support in a production environment, with a focus on AWS Connect.
  • Good knowledge of telephony, networks, load balancing, switching, firewalls.
  • Exceptional understanding of AWS, Microsoft Azure, Windows servers.
  • AWS certification, such as AWS Tech Essentials, Developer Associate, etc., is desirable.
  • Good understanding of Linux RHEL & CentOS.
  • Exceptional expertise and experience with Microsoft365 & Active Directory.
  • Proficient in managing virtual environments infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
