We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition and Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Nutrition and Food Services department, you will be responsible for the front-line supervision of employees, day-to-day operations, meal service and delivery, and ensuring safe and efficient operations of assigned work areas.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in nutrition and food service management, with a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting. You will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time in a fast-paced environment. A valid Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for travel to other sites or throughout the province.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and has a commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practice, and organizational health. You will have a strong understanding of customer-focused food service operations, with experience in a room service model preferred. A journeyman cook certification and advanced food safety certification are assets.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership abilities, staff management, and coaching in a unionized environment. You will possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practice, and organizational health is essential.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, part-time position, with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $37.38. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
