Position Overview

As a Heavy Equipment Technician at GFL Environmental Inc., you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty machinery. Your expertise will ensure that our equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and assess machinery to identify issues and malfunctions.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic tools and other testing equipment to evaluate the extent of repairs needed.
  • Make necessary adjustments and carry out repairs or replacements of faulty components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct repair work on heavy trucks and verify emission control systems.
  • Execute other standard maintenance procedures as required.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Valid Driver's License (Class 3 or D).
  • Truck and Coach Service License (310T).
Specialization in Diesel Engine Repair
  • Proficient in working with fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, and engine control systems.
  • Experience in major internal engine repairs or overhauls.
Safety and Security
  • Successful completion of a drug test is required.
Transportation and Travel
  • Possession of personal transportation is necessary.

Work Environment
