Job Summary

The Maintenance Helper position is responsible for assisting the Maintenance department with various activities. This role will support Tool & Die Makers, Electricians, and Millwrights with priority and preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete new or ongoing projects, including 5S initiatives and tool maintenance
  • Conduct necessary audits and inspections
  • Organize and clean up shop floor areas as required
  • Suggest corrective actions and continuous improvements
  • Assist with coil storage cleaning and organizing
  • Perform general plant housekeeping duties
  • Ensure work areas are clean, neat, and orderly
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures
  • Support team members in achieving work goals and objectives
  • Communicate daily with Team Leaders and team members

Requirements

  • Grade 12, GED, or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, or trades-related training an asset
  • Forklift License or ability to obtain
  • Overhead Crane Certification or ability to obtain
  • Aerial Lift Platform Certification or ability to obtain
  • Computer efficiency and systems knowledge
