SAS Business Intelligence Analyst

Typical Day:

- The day begins with a daily stand-up meeting to review current tasks assigned for the ongoing sprint and address any obstacles.

- Following the stand-up, the highest priority task is allocated time for development.

- After several hours of programming, a meeting is scheduled with a stakeholder to confirm design choices and present the report developed thus far.

- Revisions are made, and the code is prepared for submission to the production team for deployment.

- Suddenly, a stakeholder notifies you that a previously scheduled report did not dispatch on time.

- You retrieve the job log from the server and investigate the error code thoroughly.

- After troubleshooting and redeploying the report code, you follow up with your manager and the stakeholder to confirm that the issue has been resolved.

- Your initial report is successfully deployed, and you advance the task on our Kanban board in preparation for the next day's stand-up.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Operating within an Agile development framework, utilizing the latest business intelligence visualization tools and technologies.
  • Collaborating with a team of business intelligence analysts while assisting in the maintenance and development of new reporting analytical capabilities.
  • Analyzing, delivering business requests/issues/requirements, and performing quality assurance testing for all business intelligence outputs supporting Sales & Marketing functions.
  • Exhibiting strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with business users, various analysis teams, development teams, and IT departments.
  • Executing key projects and data strategies that directly influence significant business objectives.
  • Engaging with and presenting to various levels of management.
Required Competencies:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree with limited work experience in a relevant field such as:
    • Business analytics / business intelligence
    • Applied mathematics
    • Computer science
    • Applied sciences / engineering
    • Economics / econometrics
    • Management science / operations research
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, and data visualization tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of working with large and complex datasets.
  • Ability to derive insights and opportunities from data and metrics to formulate strategies and recommendations.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with a team towards shared objectives.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple projects and priorities.
Preferred Competencies:
  • Experience with data systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, SAS, MicroStrategy, or similar.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and data warehousing technologies.
  • Basic understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Experience in the Telecommunications sector.
