CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to support the implementation of IFRS 17 in our financial sector client. As a key member of the project team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth transition to the new accounting standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in troubleshooting implementation issues and develop solutions for the impact of IFRS 17 on financial risk, capital requirements, and business planning.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks and deliverables for the workstream/project.
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial models and reports under IFRS 17, including controls and assumptions for financial metrics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and feedback throughout the project.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Strong IFRS and insurance accounting experience.
  • Professional accountant (CPA) with expertise in IFRS insurance accounting and financial control knowledge.
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
  • Knowledge of SAP GL and Hana Studio would be an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth experience in financial reporting and investment accounting.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and prioritize work and efforts in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to identify, interpret, and report on trends, analyze data, and make recommendations to senior management.

Assignment Details:

6-months initial contract, likely extension beyond.
