Job Summary

As a Risk Modeling and Analytics Intern, you will participate in and support the operational activities of a business unit. You will apply your experience and working knowledge of the job and policies/practices to perform a combination of routine tasks and varied administrative/operational assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gain knowledge on retail banking and fundamental risk management principles, including the specifics of retail products, enterprise data systems, and credit risk management.
  • Support the team's feature generation project, including data extraction, transformation, and dealing with data quality issues. Work with large, enterprise-level datasets leveraging standardized RBC tools such as Python, SAS, and SQL.
  • Support regular and ad-hoc reporting and data analytics, and become comfortable communicating and dealing with senior members of the Risk Modeling team.
  • Assist with preparing documentation for audits or other processes.
Requirements
  • Desire to learn and an eagerness to make a meaningful contribution to the team environment at RBC Risk Modeling and Analytics.
  • Experience in SAS/R/Python or other mathematical/statistical programming languages.
  • Experience with SQL/Teradata or other database management systems.
  • Ability to handle and organize large amounts of data and effectively summarize/present it to other stakeholders.
