Brandt is actively looking for a Service Technician to operate within the Revelstoke area, with responsibilities reporting to our Kamloops branch. This role focuses on the upkeep and repair of machinery utilized in construction and forestry sectors within a workshop setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the operational state of heavy-duty machinery, diagnose issues, disassemble and reassemble components, procure necessary parts, and execute repairs efficiently.
  • Utilize tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Employ various instruments, hand tools, power tools, and computer systems in the repair process.
  • Document all relevant machine data, actions performed, and time spent on work orders accurately.
  • Continuously evaluate service-related hazards to ensure that tasks are performed safely and in accordance with established standards.
  • Utilize software applications and information systems (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor) for maintenance documentation, inspections, and diagnostics.
  • Refer to parts catalogs to identify and order necessary components from inventory personnel.
  • Conduct road tests on equipment and verify the functionality of attachments as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with customers, service teams, and branch staff.
  • Ability to meet physical demands including climbing, lifting, prolonged standing, and fine motor tasks.
  • Capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior mechanical experience in a heavy equipment setting is advantageous.
  • Certification as a Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician trade or an equivalent recognized trade is preferred.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and service quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting and maneuvering equipment.
