Job Summary:

The Canadian Red Cross is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to lead the delivery of our Friendly Calls program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and organizing program services, ensuring quality and compliance with national standards, and building the capacity of operations staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement program strategies to enhance the delivery of Friendly Calls services.
  • Collaborate with the manager and operations team to ensure effective program planning and execution.
  • Conduct quality assurance and compliance checks to ensure adherence to CRC's national standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations staff on safe and supportive environments for recovery.
  • Facilitate alignment between beneficiary needs and the provision of health and social services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness about beneficiary needs.
  • Support beneficiary and community engagement through the creation and update of referral processes.
  • Assist in recruiting program staff and facilitating team meetings.
  • Handle and manage complaints in accordance with CRC policies and procedures.
  • Produce requested statistics and reports.
  • Represent CRC to provincial and regional health and social services partners and the community sector.

Requirements:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline (social work, psychology, special education, nursing, community work, and public health).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in job functions, including one year in team supervision.
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience with the MS Office suite.
  • Experience working with volunteers, including volunteer management.
  • Training experience is an asset.
  • Membership in a relevant professional order for job functions is an asset.
  • Experience in managing and analyzing beneficiary records is an asset.
  • Previous work with Indigenous communities or in intercultural settings is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Community travel is part of the job, requiring a valid driver's license.
  • Non-traditional work hours may be necessary to meet the needs of volunteer teams and assume on-call periods.
