About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at Salt N' Pepper Western and Asian Cuisine. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and manage kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Quality Control: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment, and ensure that inventory levels are adequate to meet customer demand.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant or similar food service environment.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cuisine Specialties: Experience in preparing and serving Cantonese cuisine, Dim Sum, Canadian, and Filipino cuisine.
  • Work Conditions: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, flexibility, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
