About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Partnership and Engagement Consultant. As a key member of our Public Health team, you will play a critical role in building and sustaining partnerships with various stakeholders to advance our mission of improving the health and well-being of our communities.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in public health, health promotion, and partnership development, with a proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners. You will be responsible for providing guidance and direction to staff on partnership engagement, building and sustaining coalitions, and developing and implementing strategies to strengthen practice among staff.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing partnership strategies to advance public health goals and objectives
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners, including community organizations, government agencies, and healthcare providers
  • Providing guidance and direction to staff on partnership engagement and coalition building
  • Developing and implementing strategies to strengthen practice among staff
  • Collaborating with system and external partners to identify and monitor key indicators and support knowledge exchange across the health system and other sectors

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional who is passionate about public health and partnership development. About You

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Masters in public health, health promotion, or equivalent with 3 - 5 years relevant experience
  • Baccalaureate degree in health promotion or other relevant field, with 5 - 7 years' relevant experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and 7 years' progressive leadership experience may be considered
  • Eligible for registration with a professional body, as appropriate
  • Training in IAP2
  • Experience in planning, development and evaluation of public health programs, services and initiatives
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Core Competencies for Public Health and LEADS
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders using a variety of methods
  • Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions, and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners to support public policy work
  • Demonstrated judgment, decision making, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated planning, organization and time management skills. Ability to deal with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated innovative systems thinking with an understanding of working with communities
  • Demonstrated high standards of ethics, integrity, respect and accountability
  • Demonstrated knowledge of volunteer management, training and orientation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community development and mobilization
  • Demonstrated expertise on the role of partnerships and community engagement in animating public policy work
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation
