Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a talented and experienced Big Data Developer to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Global Functions Technology division, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting our regulatory project - RM (Risk Modernization).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, code, test, and debug new software or make significant improvements to existing software.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders, including business and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with other internal application development teams.
  • Design and implement data pipelines on AWS/Azure and/or Databricks.
  • Containerize applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Openshift.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of application development experience in Hadoop, Spark, and Java/Scala.
  • 4-5 years of application development experience in Java and Spring Framework.
  • 1-2 years of working in Cloud environment - AWS, Azure.
  • Some programming experience in Python (1-2 years).
  • Working knowledge of Jenkins CI, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
