As a Taxation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our Tax department, collaborating with a diverse group of professionals to craft tailored tax strategies that navigate a complex regulatory environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage client-facing teams to ensure successful completion of tax-related projects. Provide expert insights in taxation and assurance through client interactions, comprehensive reports, and high-quality deliverables. Assess current business processes and policies, advising on tax strategies that leverage business opportunities and enhance operational effectiveness. Engage with the Canada Revenue Agency and relevant provincial authorities regarding client matters. Prepare necessary election forms for corporate restructuring. Support the management of personal and trust tax compliance periods. Oversee a portfolio of clients, understanding their unique business needs and fostering growth in relationships. Ensure effective engagement planning, scheduling, and financial management, including budgets and timely billing. Maintain high standards of quality control, applying specialized knowledge to preemptively address issues affecting clients' financial reporting. Network within the local business community to identify development opportunities and assist in crafting competitive proposals. Contribute innovative ideas to enhance work processes and improve overall efficiency. Mentor and guide team members in their professional growth, providing constructive feedback and conducting performance evaluations. Be prepared to travel as required.Required Skills and Experience
CPA designation is essential. Completion of Level 1 of the In-depth Tax Program and additional specialist training is advantageous. 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or tax consulting. In-depth knowledge of Canadian Tax regulations. Strong grasp of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles. Demonstrated skills in people management, relationship building, and leadership.
