About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Kent Farm Supplies Limited. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy equipment and trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and adjust equipment, repairing or replacing defective parts as needed.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and performing other necessary work to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Service attachments and working tools, and perform other routine maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Experience with diesel engine repair and maintenance, including exhaust systems, engine control systems, and installation and alignment of engines and machinery.
  • Knowledge of powered equipment repair, including compressors, pumps, telescopic ladders, electric generators, and industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular exposure to dust, cold, and hot temperatures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions to colleagues and supervisors.
Working Conditions
  • Work will be performed in a variety of environments, including outdoors and in cold, dusty, and hot conditions.
  • Regular exposure to noise and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and perform other physically demanding tasks as required.
