Job Title: Pattern Maker / Developer 2

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pattern Maker / Developer 2 to join our team at Arc'teryx. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for managing products from concept to production readiness, including pattern development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the development of products, including interpreting design intent, patterning, and coordinating prototype and sample creation, from concept through to commercialization.
  • Compile all product materials/construction information, and maintain accurate pattern libraries and bill of materials (BOM) information, resulting in efficient raw material sourcing/purchasing and accurately produced finished product.
  • Support and influence the development process to achieve commercial viability of designs through collaboration with Design, Materials Development, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Production, and Quality teams.
  • Support and contribute to the creation and evolution of construction standards in conjunction with the QA team.
  • Partner and collaborate with Designers to establish and document product construction standards and illustrated technical specifications for all products.
  • Maintain computer pattern libraries by ensuring changes are clearly communicated to Graders and Marker Makers.
  • Ensure development and product creation deadlines are met through providing regular reporting on prototype and sample progress.
  • Build strong partnerships, effectively communicating with Designers, Sample Sewers, Product Developers, and factory partners.
  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of construction standards, and support the rollout and training of new factory resources, ensuring that Arc'teryx brand standards are met.
  • Work in conjunction with the Design, Merchandising, and Marketing teams to ensure all external product communication accurately reflects model requirements and specifications.
  • Support and contribute to CLO3D modeling as required.
  • Uphold Fair Labor Association's Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc'teryx supply chain.

What You'll Need:

  • 3+ years' experience in product development and pattern making, with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and equipment, with a strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing.
  • Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of patterning programs.
  • Ability to work from pattern blocks and/or from sketches.
  • Experience effectively communicating with and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production, and fit.
  • Complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumer.
  • Detailed and accuracy-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative, agility, and commitment, while balancing autonomy and collaboration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and develop the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do right.
  • Remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
  • Inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.

What We Offer:

A competitive salary range of CAD $80,000 - CAD $100,000 per year, plus a bonus program and benefits package.
