The County of Grande Prairie is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Business Advisory Services Director. This position plays a crucial role in providing financial and business advisory expertise to support the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Lead and direct all operations of the Business Advisory Services department
  • Advocate for sound fiscal, asset management, procurement, and risk management principles
  • Provide expert guidance for various projects, financial plans, and strategic initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date on municipal legislation and new technologies relevant to the department
  • Ensure data integrity and internal controls to minimize errors and fraudulent activities

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce, along with relevant experience in local government settings. A CPA designation or MBA is preferred, or a proven track record in Business Advisory Services.

We offer a competitive compensation package, benefits, and participation in the Local Authorities Pension Plan. Professional development opportunities are actively supported, and a 35-hour work week, Monday to Friday, is required for this full-time, permanent position.
