Aquatic Attendant Opportunity

The Municipality of North Cowichan is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Aquatic Attendant to join our team at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our patrons while operating the waterslides, assisting with aquatic programs, and performing custodial duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the waterslides and other aquatic equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist with the delivery of aquatic programs and services, including swim lessons and water aerobics
  • Perform custodial duties, including cleaning and maintaining the aquatic centre
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to patron inquiries
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a positive and safe experience for all patrons
Requirements:
  • Minimum 15 years of age and completion of Grade 8
  • Possession and maintenance of valid current Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid or AEC certifications
  • Demonstrable theory, practical skills, and abilities related to water rescue, safety, and prevention, program content and delivery, and communication
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, statutory holidays, and shift work
  • Ability to work independently as well as under supervision
