Job Description

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of System Simulation and Simulation Integration Engineer within the Energy Management and Aerothermal (EMAT) team. The successful candidate will independently carry out D and D-D simulations, from data collection to report writing, develop advanced controllers for thermal systems, and integrate the system model with the controller.

The role involves extensive collaboration with system engineers, providing numerical solutions and suggesting design improvements based on simulation results. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Heat Transfer, as well as experience with D tools like Amesim, Flowmaster, Kuli, AVL Cruise, and Matlab/Simulink.

Requirements
  1. Minimum years of experience in using D tools for solving flow/thermal problems or years of experience in Applied CFD.
  2. Minimum years of experience in controls development, implementation, and validation in Matlab and Simulink.
  3. Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering with a thesis in Thermo-fluid/Controls simulation.
  4. Strong fundamental knowledge in Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Heat Transfer.
  5. Good knowledge of automotive systems and components and their functioning.
  6. Ability to work in cross-functional teams with a pro-active approach.
  7. Working knowledge of system bench/dynamometer testing and vehicle drive cell testing.
  8. Self-motivated with attention to details.
Preferred Requirements
  1. + years' experience in vehicle/powertrain thermal management areas including powertrain cooling, climate control, or thermal protection.
  2. Experience in automotive HVAC, engine system design, and development.
  3. Experience in simulation integration and algorithm validation via Model and Hardware in the loop (MiL/HiL) benches.
  4. Expertise in advanced control algorithms including both classical and AI-based techniques.
  5. Familiarity with CAD tools.
  6. Familiarity with optimization and DoE methods.
  7. Strong technical competence with demonstrated experience in methodology development.
  8. Experience in controls modeling.
  9. Co-simulation experience in D or D-D framework is preferred.
