Job Title: Upholsterer

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at Quality & Company Inc. as a key member of our furniture restoration department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for restoring and refinishing furniture to its original glory, using a combination of traditional techniques and modern materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Restore and refinish furniture to its original condition, using a combination of traditional techniques and modern materials.
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery, using a variety of materials and techniques.
  • Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons, to add a touch of elegance to our furniture pieces.
  • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces, to ensure our furniture is sturdy and durable.
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand, to create intricate designs and patterns.
  • Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interwoven rattan, to add a touch of natural beauty.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field of furniture restoration and refinishing.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail, to ensure our furniture is restored to its original glory.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours, to select the perfect materials and finishes.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, to ensure our furniture is restored with precision and care.
  • Ability to work independently, to manage our furniture restoration projects with ease.
