Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Bioconjugation Research Scientist to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and characterizing antibody and protein conjugates for in vitro and in vivo evaluation.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute multistep bioconjugation experiments to generate antibody and protein conjugates for in vitro and in vivo evaluation.
- Apply modern analytical techniques to characterize the biophysical properties and stability of proteins and protein-conjugates.
- Propose and execute technology development efforts to advance techniques related to antibody drug conjugate (ADC) design, preparation, and characterization.
- Document raw and analyzed data, collaborate with colleagues to interpret results, and design follow-up experiments.
- Prepare written reports for internal and external use, and make presentations to team and department regularly.
- Stay up-to-date with ongoing developments and innovations in ADCs through attention to scientific literature and internally generated data.
- Adhere to Zymeworks' standard procedures for generating, documenting, and archiving data, maintaining an accurate, up-to-date electronic laboratory notebook.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and operational lab environment.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with scientific standards, OS&H regulations, and established Zymeworks' policies and practices.
- Foster an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships across the organization.
- BSc in biochemistry, chemistry, or a similar field required.
- 8+ months working in a relevant laboratory as part of an internship, co-op job, or summer placement.
- Proven record of aseptic technique using a biosafety cabinet.
- Solid understanding of general organic chemistry principles.
- Experience with HPLC instrumentation and software.
- Experience with automated liquid handling instrumentation and software.
- Knowledge in protein biochemistry and methods for protein characterization.
- General familiarity of antibody and ADC structure and function.

The Canadian base salary range for this full-time position is $48,000 - $74,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
