Senior Cybersecurity Engineer Job Overview

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of exceptional communication abilities, a deep understanding of enterprise systems, and a comprehensive knowledge of adversarial tactics. This role is pivotal in enhancing our detection and defense strategies.

This position collaborates closely with CoStar's global cyber threat center team to ensure ongoing security vigilance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cybersecurity incidents from initial identification through to resolution.
  • Collaborate with threat intelligence, detection engineering, and security controls teams to establish a comprehensive incident preparedness and resolution lifecycle.
  • Design and conduct training sessions, including quarterly tabletop exercises.
  • Act as a security advocate and primary contact for incident response across the organization.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited, non-profit institution is required.

Essential skills include:

  • A strong grasp of adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • The ability to identify automation opportunities to enhance detection and response effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, GoLang, Ruby, etc.
  • Experience in threat intelligence and detection engineering.
  • Experience working with DevOps and Application Security teams to improve preventative and detection capabilities.

Excellent communication skills are necessary to engage with various leadership levels across the organization, effectively conveying risk and promoting urgency for risk mitigation.
