Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Audit Manager to join our team at Bank of Montreal. As a key member of our audit team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of audit methodologies, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our audit processes, and providing expert advice to senior leaders on risk, governance, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement audit methodologies and processes to ensure the quality and effectiveness of our audit practices.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders on risk, governance, and internal controls, and ensure that our audit practices are aligned with industry best practices.
  • Lead the execution of operational programs, assess and adapt as needed to ensure quality of execution, and employ systems to manage information.
  • Develop and deliver training modules on audit methodology, processes, workflow tools, or technology, and provide input into Corporate Audit processes identifying opportunities to simplify.
  • Provide proactive leadership and direction to team members, and ensure alignment amongst stakeholders.
  • Act as the prime subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, including colleagues across Corporate Audit, and maintain the independence of the audit practice and its personnel.
  • Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations, and find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Implement changes in response to shifting trends, and broaden work or accountabilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional designations or business designations such as CIA, CPA-Audit.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
  • Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth/Expert.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth/Expert.
  • Influence skills - In-depth/Expert.
  • Collaboration and team skills, with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth/Expert.
  • Able to manage ambiguity.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $171,600.00 per year, and the pay type is salaried. BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
