We are currently seeking a Lab Patient Technician to contribute to our mission. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the specimen collection process, ensuring a seamless experience for patients from the moment they arrive until their specimens are prepared for transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and gather necessary information, explaining the specimen collection procedure while ensuring adherence to testing protocols.
- Conduct phlebotomies, manage holter monitor connections/disconnections, and perform ECG tracings.
- Execute specialized test collections, including medical/legal drug screenings and paternity tests, while completing all relevant documentation.
- Maintain strong client relationships by addressing inquiries and following up on requests.
- Accurately enter patient demographics and requisition information into our systems.
- Prepare specimens for transportation and subsequent testing.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to exceptional customer service, demonstrating empathy and the ability to connect with patients, even in challenging situations. Essential qualities include:
- Graduation from an accredited Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
- Experience in phlebotomy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality and privacy.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time position, requiring flexibility to work up to 20 hours per week, including weekends. A vehicle is necessary for this role.
