Position Overview

Marco Group Limited is seeking a Project Accountant to contribute to our financial operations. Reporting to the Controller and Project Manager, the Project Accountant will play a crucial role in the accurate preparation and processing of financial data, along with various accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conducting daily and monthly accounting tasks for construction projects
  2. Overseeing and reconciling subcontractor agreements and purchase orders
  3. Generating and posting monthly accounts receivable invoices
  4. Processing accounts payable invoices
  5. Preparing payment certificates and executing cheque runs/EFTs
  6. Completing various month-end reconciliations
  7. Preparing and analyzing month-end project financial statements
  8. Assisting with additional assignments as needed
Qualifications
  1. 1-3 years of experience in an accounting position
  2. Completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma/certificate with a focus on accounting
  3. Understanding of accounting principles and practices
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)
  5. Experience with Jonas software or in the construction industry is an asset
  6. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
