Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer

Job Overview
The ideal candidate will be tasked with the planning, design, implementation, and management of OnX's server and storage infrastructure, both physical and virtual, in accordance with industry best practices, organizational policies, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to project timelines while maintaining exceptional accuracy, reliability, and availability of infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to guarantee consistent operational support for physical and virtual machines across various platforms.

Core Duties
- Engage in daily operations, including handling change requests, incidents, troubleshooting, patching, and monitoring of all hardware, software, and applications across multiple platforms (Windows, VMware, Storage, Backup, etc.) within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Recommend and implement improvements to standards and procedures for the administration of physical and virtual infrastructure.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of various platforms (Operating Systems/Storage/Hardware/Hyperconverged) to provide subject matter expertise.
- Create and maintain operating procedures, best practices, and standards related to system administration of physical and virtual infrastructure.

Knowledge and Skills
- Maintain a solid understanding of current infrastructure and emerging trends.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for escalation support of technical issues, ensuring support for a 24x7 operational environment.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job-related experience is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant technical experience is essential.
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale systems/services in a diverse environment is necessary.
- Expert knowledge in configuring servers, operating systems, and Cisco UCS hardware is required. Familiarity with Dell and HPe hardware is advantageous.

Technical Expertise
- Extensive hands-on experience in configuring and managing VMware platforms (vCenter, ESXi, Replication, SRM, Orchestrator, etc.) is crucial.
- Experience with container platforms (Kubernetes/Docker) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux server and application installation, hardening based on CIS standards, and administration is expected.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres, and MySQL is preferred.
- Experience with storage management solutions including Cisco MDS, Brocade SAN switches, Pure Storage, etc., is required.

Monitoring and Management
- Strong experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix/SCOM/vROps) is essential.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, PKI, ADCS, LDAP, NTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, LVM, SAN, SCCM, WSUS, and clustering technologies (Microsoft/RedHat/Veritas Clustering) is necessary.
- Familiarity with backup solutions such as Cohesity, NetBackup, and Veeam is highly desirable.

Special Skills
- Ability to analyze and enhance existing systems and architectures.
- Capacity to function efficiently in a multi-tasking environment and perform under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to document and demonstrate procedures and processes.
- A strong team player with robust interpersonal and team-building skills.

Certifications
- VMware and Microsoft certifications are preferred.
- Other industry certifications (e.g., RedHat, Storage) are definite assets.
- ITIL certification is preferred.
