Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nuclear Medicine Physicist to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our provincial operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medical imaging technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and administer the technical aspects of the functional imaging quality assurance program.
  • Maintain the quality assurance program by ensuring compliance with procedures for quality control of radioisotopes.
  • Advise vendor service personnel and staff regarding corrective actions and trouble-shooting difficult or unusual problems.
  • Review and monitor the preparation of therapeutic injections and ensure the safe and accurate application of injected activities by staff for radiopharmaceutical therapies.
  • Perform internal radiation dosimetry calculations for radiopharmaceutical therapies and research studies.
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in medical imaging physics in a PET imaging program.
  • Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) or American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Nuclear Medicine Physics subspecialty or American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine (ABSNM) certification is required within two (2) years of entering this level.
