Indigenous Education Advocate

A proactive member of school staff who provides additional culture, language and social and emotional support in the school to Indigenous students.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a liaison between school staff, students, and Indigenous community members to promote cultural understanding and awareness.
- Develop and implement culturally responsive programs and activities to support Indigenous students' academic and social success.
- Provide one-on-one support and guidance to Indigenous students to help them navigate school systems and access resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate Indigenous perspectives and content into the curriculum.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in Indigenous education and cultural competency.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories, as well as experience working with Indigenous students and communities. A degree in Education or a related field is preferred, but not required.
