Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Signal Maintainer/Journeyman Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance of all electrical components of light rail traction power and overhead contact systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications for light rail traction power and overhead catenary systems;
  • Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with standards;
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem;
  • Work in a safe manner, maintain a safe and organized work area by observing all safety policies and procedures, applying safety training;
  • Work collaboratively with other team members (track maintainers, systems technicians, etc.) in meeting standards and regulations;
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all required information;
  • On-call coverage for emergency response on a rotating basis.

Requirements

  • Have a Powerline Technician Certification 434A AND/OR Have a Journeyman Electrician Certification 309A;
  • Safety oriented;
  • A valid Class G Drivers License required DZ Preferred;
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs;
  • Time Management;
  • Organizational skills;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • College diploma in a related technical field (ex: telecommunications, electronics, etc.) is an asset.
