Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Aide to join our team at Donwood Manor. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care to residents, ensuring their comfort and health.
  • Assist residents with nutrition, promoting healthy eating habits and social interaction.
  • Support residents with elimination needs, maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Assist with ambulation and mobility, ensuring safe movement and positioning.
  • Provide psychological support, engaging residents in intellectual stimulation and communication.
  • Participate in resident care planning, evaluating and improving care outcomes.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintain competence in current practice, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized Healthcare Aide course.
  • Mental and physical capabilities to meet job demands.
  • Skills to foster positive working relationships and teamwork.
  • Prior experience in long-term care an asset.
  • Completion of C.A.U.S.E. (Previously P.I.E.C.E.S) training an asset.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle fluctuating workloads and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the German Mennonite culture and community an asset.
  • Familiarity with long-term care an asset.
  • Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
