About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Technica Mining in Timmins, Ontario. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and progressing our long-term development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support local development projects in Timmins, Ontario, working closely with our maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures of motorized equipment, using your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications, guaranteeing the highest quality work.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service logs and documentation, providing valuable insights for future maintenance and repairs.
  • Order parts as required to complete repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Follow daily line-ups and execute scheduled work in accordance with health and safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
  • 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - Journey Person Candidate or;
  • Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician or;
  • Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician
  • Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, & U00012) or equivalent provincial designation is preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years' underground experience is preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Strong technical aptitude to use digital platforms used for work orders, email, etc.
  • High level of self-motivation and autonomy
  • Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Familiar with Sandvik, CAT, Epiroc, and/or MacLean equipment is preferred
