Work Environment:
This role offers a hybrid work-from-home arrangement, with candidates expected to be available for travel to the office for essential meetings as required.

Compensation:
Salary range: $45,000 - $60,000, with flexibility based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of compilation engagements
  • Preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns
  • Assisting clients with bookkeeping tasks, including transaction recording, bank reconciliation, and HST return preparation
  • Efficient preparation and completion of working papers, financial statements, and corporate tax returns for various clients
  • Timely preparation of tax assignments, ensuring all queries are resolved and deadlines are met
  • Preparation of trust returns (T3)

Qualifications:

  • A college or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 2-3 years of experience in public accounting or a related finance role
  • Proven expertise in preparing compilation engagements and tax returns
  • Technologically proficient with accounting and tax software
  • Strong understanding of tax and accounting principles
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Tax Prep, CaseWare, Sage, and QuickBooks
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive under challenges
  • Excellent time management skills and self-motivation to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Commitment to client service excellence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to expand professional skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods, with compensation for additional hours worked
