Job Title: Finish Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at Jot Renovation & Construction Ltd. As a Finish Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with experience in working with various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel. You will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and material costs, reading blueprints and drawings to determine work requirements, and preparing layouts in conformance to building codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Supervise other workers
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and outdoor conditions. You will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces, and will be expected to maintain a high level of physical fitness.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
