Adult Psychiatrist Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Adult Community Psychiatrist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our Mental Health department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in our community.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires recent and relevant experience in all scopes of practice. You will be responsible for supporting community/rural clinics in the Central Zone, Addiction & Mental Health via in-person outpatient clinics, telehealth, and other virtual care means.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in our community
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of patients with mental health conditions
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure seamless care coordination
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Recent experience (within the last 12 months) of independent practice where you have been the Most Responsible Physician for a wide range of patients
- Experience within the past 24 months being responsible for after-hours inpatient care
- A valid and relevant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, or a valid Notification of Eligibility Letter from the CPSA
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a Fee For Service On Call Stipend and Alberta Medical Association (AMA) Compensation Programs. You will also have the opportunity to work in a diverse community practice with a 90-minute drive to the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
