About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Services Manager to lead the interprofessional health services teams at the Forensic Assessment & Corrections Treatment (FACT) unit and the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility (CNSCF) Health Services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership, day-to-day clinical operations, standards of care, and maintaining a safe and respectful work environment. They will also contribute to policy development, quality initiatives, service standardization, and resource management.

The Health Services Manager will work collaboratively with the Department of Justice Correctional Services to resolve operational issues and ensure safe and timely care for patients and Persons in Custody. They will also engage with a wide range of services and programs across Nova Scotia Health and community healthcare providers.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree from a health-related discipline and a Master's degree or Leadership certificate an asset. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment.

The successful candidate will also have a minimum of five (5) years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolio and be registered with the relevant health discipline college/association. They will possess excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.

The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work, require a high level of sound judgment, initiative, and self-direction, and demonstrate high degrees of independent decision making, motivation, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and change management knowledge.

They will also possess proven and highly developed leadership skills including vision, self-awareness, relationship and team building skills, and communication skills. Travel may be required, and competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours and Compensation

The position is permanent, full-time, and 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $60.39. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
