Aecon is seeking a highly skilled Tunnel Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our underground construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient execution of tunneling projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage tunnel crews to ensure safe and efficient project execution
- Develop and implement safety plans and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop and implement project plans and schedules
- Monitor and control project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Practical training, classroom, or simulation experience
- Working knowledge of English
- 2-3 years of experience in tunneling, including SEM/NATM techniques, drill and blast techniques, and Tunnel Boring Machine operations
- Experience with Herrenknecht equipment and concrete segment lining
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements
- Competitive hourly rate of $53 per hour, with shift premium
- 37.5 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime
