Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Helper to join our team at VOIX CONSTRUCTION INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of construction, including mixing, pouring, and spreading materials, assisting in framing houses, and performing routine maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
Work Environment

As a Construction Helper, you will work outdoors, at heights, underground, and in confined spaces. You will be exposed to noisy, dusty, cold, and hot environments.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience or equivalent experience
Work Setting

You will work on remote locations, construction sites, and will be required to travel to different sites.

Specialization

Our team specializes in driveways, industrial, commercial, and institutional, residential, sidewalks, and curbs, and roofing projects.

Transportation

You will be required to own a vehicle and have a valid driver's license.

Work Conditions

As a Construction Helper, you will work in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, and performing repetitive tasks. You will be required to work in a physically demanding environment with tight deadlines.

Physical Capabilities

You will be required to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and work in a variety of weather conditions.

Personal Suitability

We are looking for a team player who is hardworking, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Language

The work language is English, and the work term is permanent.

Hours of Work

You will work 30 to 40 hours per week.
