What is the Opportunity?

As an IT Compliance Manager at the Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a critical role in the transformation of the bank's internal control framework, ensuring the effectiveness of SOX and FDICIA compliance across the enterprise. You will be responsible for testing and evaluating IT-specific internal controls, collaborating with stakeholders to identify innovative solutions, and contributing to the development of key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning process, developing key performance metrics and successful plans through thoughtful resourcing.
  • Contribute to the execution of SOX and FDICIA IT control testing, supporting the team through peer review and ensuring effective practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with business partners to drive innovation in service delivery, identifying opportunities and developing solutions to improve performance.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop automated solutions, contributing to the pipeline of continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Understand the IT risks associated with proprietary technology to identify key risks and controls.

Requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with internal and external business partners.
  • Flexible mindset, with the ability to learn quickly and leverage skills in a dynamically changing environment.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as business or computer science, and relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of SOX and FDICIA requirements, including IT controls and dependencies, and control testing methodologies.
  • 4-7 years of relevant work experience in a financial institution or technology company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a financial institution or technology company, dealing with multiple business platforms, geographies, and legal entities.
  • Understanding of core technology, including applications and infrastructure, and relevant certifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Dedication to leadership and fostering collaboration and teamwork.
