Job Summary:

Gpac is seeking a highly skilled Family Lawyer to join our team. As a Family Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of family law matters, drafting and responding to correspondence, and preparing pleadings and other legal documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned caseload of family law matters
  • Draft and respond to correspondence related to family law cases
  • Prepare pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation, and trial briefs
  • Conduct tele and in-person contact with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
  • Prepare witness questions for evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Track billable time and maintain accurate records
  • Assist supervising lawyers in all phases of the practice

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to the Ontario Bar
  • 2-3+ years of experience practicing family law
  • Empathetic and level-headed demeanor to handle sensitive family law matters
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
