We are seeking a skilled Tradesperson 1 - Millwright to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and overhauling machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Execute preventative maintenance programs as per existing manuals and schedules.
- Complete safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of plant facilities and equipment as required.
- Respond to work orders with varying time constraints in a proficient manner.
- Identify opportunities to work collaboratively with other team members to resolve concerns effectively.
- Maintain detailed records of technical information and labor hours of repairs and improvements.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform plant services work as defined in the Facility Maintenance Services Agreement (FMSA) as and when required.
- High school completion plus a specialized technical course and Red Seal Millwright Journeyperson certification.
- More than three years up to five years of job-related experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in computer usage and Microsoft Office.
- Healthcare facility experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in controls is an asset.
- Assertive and self-motivated, able to analyze and prioritize tasks.
- Intimate knowledge of equipment and processes within scope of job.
- Constantly open to new ideas, open to change and improvement, capable of moving ideas into actions by leveraging planning skills and the ability to involve and motivate others.
- Skilled in root cause analysis and trouble techniques of equipment problems.
- Creative problem-solving skills are essential.
- General knowledge of blueprint reading and building plans.
- Team player in providing knowledge and expertise with following plans and schedules set by the team.
- Clean, professional healthcare facility and union shop environment.
- Must wear all PPE including company-provided uniforms.
- Required to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking, and bending.
- Daily interaction with clinical staff.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $40.44 and a full-time Tradesperson 1 – Millwright position with a union shop environment.
