Senior Formulator - Colour Cosmetics

Are you a seasoned Development Chemist or Formulator with Colour Cosmetics experience and a passion for innovation?

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Formulator to join our Colour Cosmetics team in Toronto, Canada. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence in our Colour Cosmetics products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new technologies, raw materials, and formulas across the Colour Cosmetics category
  • Re-engineer benchmarks and design new chassis formulas, identifying product and process innovations
  • Collaborate with raw material suppliers on new applications and innovations
  • Optimise the raw material portfolio for cost-effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, specifications, and feasibility
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, actively participating in client visits, risk assessments, and new product launch meetings
  • Support technical development of internal talent, providing guidance and training
Candidate Requirements:
  • Science degree, preferably Chemistry, plus significant cosmetics formulation experience
  • Technical knowledge of raw material functions and applications
  • Expertise in processing technologies, testing and analytical instruments
  • Proficient in NPD, performance evaluation, market trends, manufacturing, quality, GMP/GLP, and 5S
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving and teamwork skills
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience in coaching junior staff
