Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Continuing Care Assistant to join our team at Northwood's Bedford campus. As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, supporting their physical, emotional, and social needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care.
  • Assist residents with meals, snacks, and hydration, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Participate in leisure and recreational activities, promoting social interaction and engagement among residents.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring resident-centered care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Continuing Care Assistant program with NS provincial certification.
  • Current Standard First-Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in continuing care.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
