About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bakery Team Member to join our team at Bellevie Cafe / Bakery and Eatery. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Customer Service: Prepare special orders and provide excellent customer service.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff, and oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.
  • Health and Safety: Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate machinery as needed.
  • Human Resources: Hire and dismiss staff as needed.
  • Inventory Organization: Organize and maintain inventory levels.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
