Our Team: Treasury and Investment Services
The Treasury and Investment Services department is integral to managing the university's capital assets effectively. Our responsibilities encompass cash management, banking relationships, merchant account oversight, endowment management, investment reporting, and debt management. We strive to support the university's financial health through innovative and professional practices.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Treasury Analyst to join our Treasury and Investment Services team. This role involves providing comprehensive treasury operations and administrative services related to banking, merchant accounts, and cash management. Key responsibilities include:
- Processing, monitoring, and investigating outbound payments via cheque and electronic methods to ensure accurate recording in the Financial Information System (FIS) and General Ledger (GL).
- Offering analytical support for the management of operating funds, endowments, and trust portfolios, including the preparation of complex financial analyses and models.
- Preparing reports and analyses concerning bank account fees, merchant account fees, and letters of credit, along with performing liquidity analysis and forecasting.
- Assisting in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements and supporting documentation.
Responsibilities
- Providing treasury operations and administrative services, acting as a point of contact for bank and merchant account inquiries.
- Processing and investigating outbound electronic payments, including bill payments and international wires, while monitoring for fraud.
- Updating daily cash forecasts and liquidity tracking spreadsheets.
- Supporting long-term investment administration, including record-keeping and system updates.
- Preparing reports and analyses to assist the Treasury & Investment Services management team.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Enrollment in a professional designation program such as CFA or CTP is required.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in treasury, cash management, or investment management, preferably in an academic environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
