Job Title: Environmental Engagement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engagement Specialist to join our team in Ontario. As an Environmental Engagement Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for projects in various sectors, including transportation, mining, and energy resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans to ensure effective communication and collaboration with Indigenous Nations, the public, project partners, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings with stakeholders and partners, including venue booking, presentation preparation, and meeting minutes.
  • Build and enhance relationships with Indigenous Nations, the public, project partners, and stakeholders through regular communication and engagement.
  • Write reports and technical memos to document stakeholder engagement activities and outcomes.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are followed and serve as a role model for WSP's Life Saving and corporate values.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in environmental studies, environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental planning and/or the coordination of environmental permits and approvals, including preparation of applications.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous history, culture, and governance.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian regulatory and policy context, including leading practice in Indigenous engagement and participation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience working on complex projects and working with multi-disciplinary teams.
