Job Title: Project Foreman - Kearl Oil Sands

Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Foreman to join our team at the Kearl Oil Sands site.

Job Summary:

The Project Foreman is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the operations team, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of the crew operating heavy equipment and labourers.
  • Directly manage and support a large group of employees to meet the requirements of the contract, client, and FMGOC.
  • Accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and productivity performance to ensure client compliance.
  • Maintain relationships with clients in the field and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist the General Foreman with supervisory problem-solving duties and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with General Foreman to assist in job planning and hazard analysis.
  • Provide safe execution of work as per the scope of the work and assigned schedule.
  • Coordinate with shift safety personnel to ensure all HSE initiatives are being followed.
  • Assist in incident or injury investigation and ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitor and assist senior management in the career development of hourly employees.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A valid Class 5 License and satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract.
  • CSTS and CSO/BSO certification, with Ground Disturbance as an asset.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook, with experience in SAP and/or Ceridian Dayforce considered an asset.
  • Practical understanding of open pit mine operations and ability to read and interpret blueprints and EWP drawings.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate continuous learning through cross-training and skill development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a commitment to safety and compliance.

This is a full-time temporary position located north of Fort McMurray, AB, on the Kearl Oil Sands Site. Work schedule is 14 days on, 7 days off, with days and nights. Camp and flights are available from Edmonton and Calgary ONLY.
