About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at MAKHANI INDIAN RESTAURANT INC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
    • Portion and wrap foods for take-out and delivery.
    • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables with a smile.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Scour pots and pans to maintain kitchen hygiene.
  • Inventory Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Keep records of food quantities used to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Customer Service
    • Take customers' orders and respond to their queries in a professional manner.
    • Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Stand for extended periods and move around the kitchen as needed.
  • Work in a team environment to maintain a clean and safe kitchen.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
