Key Responsibilities- Align with Company Policies and Procedures: Ensure all pharmacy operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Train and Supervise Dispensary Staff: Provide training and guidance to dispensary staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Assist in Financial Objectives: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement strategies to achieve financial objectives for the company.
- Maintain Pharmacy Inventory: Ensure accurate and timely inventory management, including ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: Foster positive relationships with clients and patients by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a professional image.
- Practice Pharmacy within Scope of Practice: Ensure all pharmacy services are provided within the scope of practice and guidelines set by the College of Pharmacists.
- Ensure Narcotics are Properly Received and Recorded: Verify the receipt and recording of narcotics at the dispensary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Cycle Counting and Reconciling: Participate in regular cycle counting and reconciling of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure Current and Accurate Patient Profiles: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient profiles, including medication lists and other relevant information.
- Perform Technical, Therapeutic, and Electronic MAR Checks: Conduct regular checks of medication entries, including technical, therapeutic, and electronic MAR checks, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide, Document, and Bill Pharmaceutical Interventions: Provide pharmaceutical interventions, document them accurately, and bill accordingly, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Minimize Medication Incidents: Implement strategies to minimize medication incidents, including reporting and resolving any incidents that occur.
- Participate in Continuous Learning Activities: Participate in ongoing learning and professional development activities to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Document Patient Counselling: Document patient counselling in accordance with provincial regulations and company policies.
- Assist in Ensuring Timely and Accurate Completion of Third-Party Processing: Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate completion of third-party processing, billing, re-submissions, and reporting.
- Protect Patient Privacy and Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of patient information in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Align with Federal and Provincial Pharmacy Regulations: Ensure all pharmacy operations are conducted in accordance with federal and provincial pharmacy regulations.
- Licensure: Must be licensed with the ON College of Pharmacists and in good standing.
- Availability: Must be available to cover on-call services after hours on a scheduled rotational basis as required.
- Experience: Preferred: minimum of two years of experience as a pharmacist in a long-term care, retail, and/or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Communication Skills: Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organizational Skills: Superior organizational skills, with a commitment to provide exceptional customer service.
